Looking ahead over the 18 months
We have a number of tours and events over the next 18 months including a large selection of wonderful and hopefully memorable family days out. Our ticket page gives details of each of these tours and events in greater detail.
Summer 2020 begins on July 12th with our usual public opening.
Throughout the next twelve months we will debut our Castle Tours and Garden Trails on specific weekends (July 18th and in September and October). These are family friendly events offering a gentle introduction to the Castle and grounds. Also, in September, October and November we will hold a number of our popular Real Lives and Film Sets tours. These are special days with limited numbers which allow a personal feel to the day when guests can see how aspects of the Downton Abbey movie were filmed as well as learning about the real life of the Castle. Tickets available now.
On October 10th and 11th we invite you to step into our first Highclere History Festival. The Saturday looks back at VE day with vintage cars and planes, whilst the Sunday has more speakers.
Do look out for our Christmas events which will be posted shortly. Similarly, there will be winter tours in early 2021, (Special Winter Guided Tours), with log fires roaring in the Castle. As the daffodils bloom in the park and the gardens start to wake up, greet the spring exploring the Bespoke Guided Castle & Garden Tours in March and April 2021.
Spring public opening will take place for two weeks over Easter, followed by a wonderful week Living in a Castle led by Lady Carnarvon (May 9 to 15th). We will then move to our Midsummer tours of 2021 before Highclere’s Summer general opening in July and August 2021.
September 2021 stars the weekend event the “Magic of the Movies”.
We hope you find something of interest and very much look forward to welcoming you here in the near future.
