Please do join us for a lovely summer event - tours, champagne and canapes. June is a month for roses and late afternoon sunshine

“If it could only be like this always – always summer” - Evelyn Waugh

We are delighted to welcome guests for a special summer's evening Champagne and Canape reception to tour around the State rooms of the Castle, gallery bedrooms, the Egyptian Exhibition and gardens.

As you step into the Saloon at the very heart of the Castle you will begin your evening with a refreshing glass of Champagne before exploring around the State rooms including the infamous Library, the beautiful drawing room and our Music Room with Napoleon’s desk to name a few. You will recognise many of the rooms from so many scenes of Downton Abbey.

Lord and Lady Carnarvon will be hosting the evening and along with our Highclere guides they will share anecdotes and answer any questions you may have!

During the event, you will have the opportunity to explore the gardens whilst the roses are in full bloom The Egyptian Exhibition is housed in the Castle's atmospheric cellars and tells the story of the discovery of Tutankhamun in 1922 by the 5th Earl of Carnarvon and Howard Carter.

This special evening is in aid of Kings College Hospital Charity which is a preeminent UK centre of excellence for liver surgery and treatment in children and adults. It suports them throughout their illness and is home to the world’s largest children’s liver unit, providing a national service, treating over 3,000 young patients a year from all over the UK and carrying out liver transplants of more than 50 children each year.
