Please note that Highclere Castle is the private family home of the 8th Earl and Countess of Carnarvon and there is no access to the Estate, nor opportunity to see the Castle, outside of the events, dates and times listed below.
Christmas at Highclere: Various Dates in November and December 2019
Our Christmas events take their inspiration from these themes whether it is tips on preparation and planning, in late November, to decorating and shopping, or singing carols together by our Christmas tree, enjoying Christmas afternoon teas, and dining with us in the State Dining Room. These tours share what life was, and is, like to live in a Castle with talks on how to decorate a family home which resonates with its history, how to live with a film crew, how we plan and prepare the Castle and the Gardens for visitors and how the Castle has welcomed Royalty and statesmen and entertained over the years. The Magic of the Movies Weekend: 12 & 13 September 2020
Join us on the set of Downton Abbey to experience the magic of the movies. Let us transport you back in time to the 1920s with vintage cars and costumes to see, jazz era entertainment to enjoy and many rooms of the Castle to explore.
