Where can I walk?

The gardens and grounds are only open when the castle is open. However, there are three public footpaths near the estate and some walks to enjoy in the summer months.

Please see the walks listed below and where they are located. Please open this PDF link for further details and images. The paths illustrated by the red dots are the public annual footpaths, the yellow dots denote the permissive summer walks.

Please note when the Castle is open to the public none of the footpaths below are accessible from the car parking area. Any visitors wishing to walk before or after visiting the Castle need to park off of the estate. We do not allow dogs into the castle gardens with the exception of assistance dogs. We do ask that all dogs on foot paths are kept on a short lead due to grazing livestock and ground nesting birds.
